ARENA Y ESTERAS
Arena y Esteras is a non-profit
cultural organization from Villa El
Salvador, Lima, Peru. It gathers artists,
performers, educators, and community
leaders commited to achieve social
transformation through the arts. This project took place as part of the research for my undergraduate thesis project.
For the couple of months I attended
their rehearsals and performances,
I became an observer of their world. These photographs are a glimpse
to that intimate universe; a visual research into a dark space of whispers, in which community and activism are built through dance and theatre.
